Having lived in Hurricane alley on two separate occasions I have a bit of a feel for it. I was really lucky when I lived in Bermuda and FL that nothing ever got close enough to be a real threat. I did get evacuated for Gloria when I lived in NJ. That was a bit hairy.

My dad got the word in the hospital, either lose weight or you know what...we don't know where to begin to get him to listen. He's gotta want to do it, but he's too damn stubborn. (*&^%$#!

I had to cancel my Labor day weekend trip because of Gustav. Still not sure if it's coming for us or not, but New Orleans can't take a storm that hits higher than a category 2. We're just not ready yet. I'm exhausted from preparing for this at work. I packed some closed today. I'm going to load a few things I don't want to loose in my car tomorrow after work and head across the lake to be with my Mom and Grandparents. I'm trying to beat the contraflow traffic that will develope if they call a mandatory evacuation. If it doesn't come for us and all I have to do is turn around and unpack.... well, that's what I'm hoping for.

I wanted to finish packing tonight, but I am so-so tired.

I know I travel a lot, but I do love New Orleans. I love the history, the culture, the architecture, the cemetaries. I often roam, but I always come back home.

I'll try and keep in touch as much as I can. As long as I have an internet connection.

Because you two are always active figures on the boards, Myspace and out promoting, you're on the top of mine and I'm sure other team members' "Gustav Prayer List". But to any others of you who are potentially in harms way, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

This is the part where the team becomes family. Just another way to show support and devotion to our band by showing love and concern for each other. As I tell all my road children and my own real kids....Be well. Stay safe. Peace always.

Found out the manager at the store stole a huge 300 sale after I told her about a customer request. She took it upon herself to use it for the day and credit it to herself and she knew it was mine!!!

SPEAKING OF GUSTAV!!!! Im stuck in Marietta Georgia out of money, with a cat, dog and hyper-active 5 year old and my boyfriend in amotel room w/ ONE bed.....I'm so tired of all this shit, I mean, I dont know what damage is done on my house yet, we arent going back till friday, but I do know all the food in fridge will be rotted and need to be thrown out at LEAST- then there are 3 mor hurricanes out there right now-----Like Metal SLut said, I love my city too, but I dont think I can take this anymore- I'm ready to move----we may have to evacuate AGAIN soon....this SUCKS!!!!!!! BUT I got my postcards in from LAura and I did look for a mall around here w/ a hot topic lol

I might be going to NOLA to help out with relief sometime this year again... If I'm in, I'll let y'all know!

last night my cat decided that she wanted to break out of the house.. so she broke through the screen on my brothers' window.. and ended up on the other side hanging there..

i ran out side to get her and she freaked out and clawed and scratched me up... pretty badly actually.



grrrrrrr..... so now i am wearing one armwarmer to cover up the bandages.

ike is tearing through here right now, although its not directly hitting us, we are expirincing tropical storm weather, my yard is a wreck, theres the top of somoene esles tree in my back yard, as of this morning, who knows what it looks like now, I STILL had to come to work, but ALL schools are closed, so I have my daughter sitting under my work desk right now watching dvd's ---- it is SO windy out there shit is flying down the streets, breaking in half etc. etc.

Yep, I'm at work too Jessa. Wasn't sure if I was going to make it here with all of that rain this morning. The wind IS pretty gusty out there.
